Transportation

Flying in

Pullman: less than 10 miles away, but expensive and not many flights.
Lewiston: 35 minutes away, less expensive and more flight choices.
Spokane: 90 miles away, less expensive and good choice of flights.
Seattle: 5-hour drive to Moscow. Inexpensive flights with numerous options.

*New Saint Andrews College does not provide transportation to and from airports. For transportation from Pullman and Spokane airports, contact the Wheatland Express. Lewiston also provides a shuttle service into Moscow. Transportation from Seattle will require a rental car.

Around town

If you’re not renting a car at the airport, rest assured that Moscow is very walkable. If you’ve chosen the Monarch Motel for lodging, your walk to the school will be less than one block. The Best Western and Fairfield Inn are a mile or so away, and there is local bus stop near each one.

Street address

Our address is 405 S Main St., Moscow, ID 83843, but our parking lot is at 505 S Jackson Street (less than one block west of our building). Please enter by the door on Main Street.

Lodging

Not sure where to stay in Moscow? In addition to the numerous bed and breakfast options you can find easily on-line, NSA often has visitors who stay at the following three hotels.

Best Western

If you choose this, mention ‘New Saint Andrews College’ when you make a reservation for a discount.

Fairfield Inn

When making a reservation here, mention ‘New Saint Andrews College’ for the discount.

Monarch Motel

This property is less than a block from NSA, has been completely renovated very recently, and often has lower rates than either of the two choices above. However, their rate varies widely based on occupancy rates, so be sure to check the rate just before you make your reservation.

Attire

NSA’s graduate classes are business casual attire. Evening functions are modest casual attire. Moscow can have very hot, sunny summer days, but the nights cool off enough that a sweater or light jacket may be in order. NSA is air-conditioned, as are most restaurants and cafes, but the summer weather is often nice enough to eat or have coffee outdoors.

Free Time

Moscow and the surrounding countryside offer a wide range of activities. Downtown is rich with used book stores, rock shops (both music and geological), art shops, consignment/thrift stores, and plenty of places to refresh yourself with coffee or tea in between bouts of shopping – many of the latter feature live music in the evening. If you need fresh air, there is a hike and bike trail easily accessible from downtown (bike rentals from Paradise Creek Bikes on Main Street), the University of Idaho’s arboretum is free to the public, or you can go further afield to hike and climb at Kamiak Butte and Moscow Mountain. The University of Idaho rents a wide variety of sporting equipment to the public – their rafts and kayaks beckon you to ride the rivers, and their camping gear will let you truly get away from it all.
